Installation for ‘Rise & Fall’ Solo Exhibition, London

The burning process is somehting I experimented with in San Francisco a year ago. Theres something very priman & cathartic about a group of people making art around a fire. The burning of the banners was symbolic of both decay & rejuvenation.

Shout outs to the homies Louis, Lee, Jarus, Andy, and Miya, who made this installation experience all the more epic!

‘Rise & Fall’ Mural in Shoreditch, London

IMG_0268

I am incredibly blessed to have had such a rad experience painting these gates in Shoreditch, East London last month. It was an epic way to launch the opening for my ‘Rise & Fall’ solo show with Stolenspace Gallery, which was a huge success. Shout outs to everyone for all the support through the icy days on Brick Lane – Lee (Global Street Art), Louis (Spraying Bricks), Roly (VNA Magazine), Miya, Young Jarus, and Andy.

My upcoming solo show, ‘Rise & Fall,’  opens at Stolenspace Gallery in London on February 5. This means I am burning the midnight oil and working around the clock. This show is inspired by my recent residency with Inner State Gallery in Detroit, and plays on the current fractures in urban society, such as over-indulgence, fallen idols, and the detriments of pop culture. If you’re near the Shoreditch area, come by and say Hi!

See you (very) soon, London!

THINKSPACE GALLERY CELEBRATES ITS 10 YEAR ANNIVERSARY

Meggs-Endless-Summer

Congratulations to Thinkspace Gallery, who recently celebrated their 10-year anniversary. The ‘La Familia’ exhibition showcased the works of over 100 artists (including myself), who painted on 10″ x 10″ wooden panels. The piece above is called ‘Endless Summer,’ a mashup inspired by my new home, Venice Beach, CA, and by my recent trip to the Big Island and Oahu’s North Shore.  Cheers to Andrew and Shawn and the rest of the Thinkspace family, I am honored to be a part of the familia!
